Our journey in the Mixed Country Teams has been incredibly creative! For this activity, our team participated in a "Recycling Challenge" via a shared Padlet. We shared different recyclable materials along with 2-3 innovative ideas on how to repurpose them.

From Egg Cartons to the Deep Blue Sea

After exploring many wonderful suggestions from our partners, our class decided to bring an idea from the 4th Primary School of Nafplio to life.

They suggested transforming simple, everyday egg cartons into a vibrant underwater world. We loved this idea because it allowed us to use our imagination and see "trash" in a completely different light. This activity taught us that by collaborating and exchanging ideas with students from other schools, we can find beautiful ways to protect our planet.

"One school's idea, another school's creation – that's the magic of eTwinning!"

8th Primary school of Kallithea / Mission Zero-Waste – Recycling Rangers in Action!

Hello team! We are the Recycling Rangers, and we are taking action because the year 2040 is counting on us! We have a very important goal: to learn how to transform trash into treasure and protect our environment.

What is our mission?

  • Become Experts: We are learning what can actually be recycled (watch out for those "sneaky" greasy pizza boxes!).

  • Reduce and Reuse: Before we throw anything away, we ask ourselves: "Can I use this for something else?"

  • Spread the Word: We are organizing paper bins at school and setting a zero-waste example at home.

The future starts in our recycling bin. Are you ready to be the heroes our planet needs?

8th Primary school of Kallithea/Georgia Karabali/ Guardians of the Coast: A Lesson in Ecology

Our 5th graders took an important step toward becoming conscious citizens through the "Sea" environmental program. The day started with a serious discussion at the KPE Argyroupoli about the modern threats facing our planet: Climate Change and Marine Pollution.

Armed with worksheets and scientific tools, the students headed to the beach, but not for swimming. They conducted a waste audit, recording the types of trash left on the shore. This hands-on activity helped them understand the impact of plastics on our ecosystem. By analyzing environmental data and discussing sustainable habits, the children learned that protecting the environment is a daily mission.

Education turned into action, proving that it is up to us to ensure a greener, cleaner future for everyone.

A Unique Experience at Blue Horizons: The Young "Protectors" of the 8th Elementary School of Kallithea

Today, Friday, February 27, 2026, the 5th-grade students of the 8th Elementary School of Kallithea visited the historic Yacht Club of Greece in Piraeus to participate in the Blue Horizons educational event.

Under the theme "If I had Poseidon’s Trident...", our students used their imagination to explore how they could protect the marine environment. Through a perfectly balanced "edutainment" program, the children had the chance to:

  • Learn about climate change and ocean pollution through interactive presentations tailored to their daily lives.

  • Participate in a S.T.E.A.M. workshop titled "How Trash Becomes a Robot," where they combined environmental awareness with basic principles of electricity.

  • Engage in hands-on activities, such as learning nautical knots, making environmental pledges, and meeting the iconic HELMEPA Seagull.

The highlight of the day was "The Children's Message," where our students took the stage to express their dreams and promises for healthy oceans through songs and spontaneous messages.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the organizers for inviting us to this wonderful event. It was a truly inspiring day that empowered our students to become the next generation of ocean guardians.

8th Primary school of Kallithea/Georgia Karabali/Acrostic Poem

As part of our eTwinning project Many Friends Green Steps for a Happier Planet, our students took part in a collaborative acrostic poem activity.

Using the first three letters of the project title, they created meaningful verses related to environmental protection, friendship, cooperation, and sustainability. Through creativity and teamwork, they expressed their ideas about how small green steps can lead to big changes for our planet.

This activity encourages collaboration between partner schools, as each school contributes different parts of the poem. Our students proudly started the acrostic, and we are excited to see how our partners will continue and complete it.

Together, we are building not only a poem, but also a shared vision for a happier and greener planet.
