Challenge 6th - Feeding birds
Szkoła Podstawowa w Goleszynie, Poland
4th grade, Barbara Sobczyk
This is a blog to encourage enviromental action through unity of students across the globe.
Through this action, students were encouraged to use both sides of the paper when writing or drawing. In this way, they understood the importance of saving paper, protecting trees and reducing waste by adopting more responsible daily habits.
Through the action “Say no to plastic bags all day”, students were encouraged to avoid single-use plastic bags and use reusable cloth bags instead. This simple practice helped them understand the importance of reducing plastic waste and adopting more environmentally friendly habits in their daily lives.
This eco-friendly challenge helps students understand how easy it is to reduce plastic waste in their everyday lives. By choosing snacks with little or no plastic packaging and bringing a reusable lunchbox instead of single-use packaging, students learn to make responsible choices that protect the environment.
As part of our 5th challenge, students learned how important it is to turn off the lights when they leave a room or when there is enough natural sunlight. This simple habit helps save energy and protect the environment. Students realized that small everyday actions can make a big difference.
Challenge 4
Students from different classes created pencil holders using toilet paper rolls, giving new life to recyclable materials. Through this creative activity, students learned the importance of reuse and recycling, while developing their imagination and teamwork skills. This action showed that small, simple materials can be transformed into useful objects while protecting the environment.
Students from various grades actively participated in a school yard clean-up activity, (Day 10 of the Green December Eco-Challenge) aiming to take care of their school environment and raise awareness about waste and pollution. By working together, they understood that keeping our surroundings clean is everyone’s responsibility. This hands-on activity helped students develop environmental responsibility and respect for shared spaces.
In this activity, (Day 6 of the Green December Eco-Challenge) we took care of birds by providing them with food and water. Students looked after the pigeons in the school yard, showing respect and care for animals and nature.
With great joy and impatience, students began opening the days in Green December: Two-Weeks Eco-Challenge. The first challenge was to unplug chargers or turn off devices when we don't use them.
