A Unique Experience at Blue Horizons: The Young "Protectors" of the 8th Elementary School of Kallithea
Today, Friday, February 27, 2026, the 5th-grade students of the 8th Elementary School of Kallithea visited the historic Yacht Club of Greece in Piraeus to participate in the Blue Horizons educational event.
Under the theme "If I had Poseidon’s Trident...", our students used their imagination to explore how they could protect the marine environment. Through a perfectly balanced "edutainment" program, the children had the chance to:
Learn about climate change and ocean pollution through interactive presentations tailored to their daily lives.
Participate in a S.T.E.A.M. workshop titled "How Trash Becomes a Robot," where they combined environmental awareness with basic principles of electricity.
Engage in hands-on activities, such as learning nautical knots, making environmental pledges, and meeting the iconic HELMEPA Seagull.
The highlight of the day was "The Children's Message," where our students took the stage to express their dreams and promises for healthy oceans through songs and spontaneous messages.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the organizers for inviting us to this wonderful event. It was a truly inspiring day that empowered our students to become the next generation of ocean guardians.
